This Warranty Policy explains the warranties that apply to products sold and services provided by Gosca. It is designed in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).
In terms of Section 57 of the Consumer Protection Act, we warrant every new or reconditioned part installed during a repair or maintenance service, as well as the labour required to install it, for a minimum period of three (3) months from the date of installation.
We may offer a longer warranty period on certain repairs. Any extended warranty will be clearly stated on your invoice or job card.
This repair warranty covers:
Defects in the parts we supplied and installed
Faulty workmanship related to the specific repair performed
This repair warranty does not cover:
Damage caused by misuse, abuse, accidents, liquid damage, or power surges after the repair
Ordinary wear and tear
Problems unrelated to the original repair
Software issues not connected to the hardware work performed
Devices that have been opened, modified, or repaired by a third party after our service
New products sold by Gosca carry the manufacturer’s warranty (where applicable) and are also covered by the implied warranty of quality under Section 55 and 56 of the CPA for a period of up to six (6) months from the date of delivery.
If a product is defective within this period, you may choose repair, replacement, or a refund in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act.
Services such as CCTV installations, software set-ups, and technical support are performed with reasonable care and skill. If a service is not delivered to the standard reasonably expected, you may request that we remedy the issue or receive a reasonable price adjustment in terms of Section 54 of the CPA.
To make a warranty claim:
Contact us as soon as you notice the issue
Provide your proof of purchase or job card
Describe the problem clearly (photos or videos are helpful)
We will assess the claim and advise you of the outcome and next steps
Proof of purchase or the original job card is required for all warranty claims.
The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer.
Any unauthorised repairs or modifications may void the warranty.
This policy does not limit or exclude your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or any other applicable South African law.
